Very traggic events ...85 car pileup in Frostburg Md..

This just happened within the last hour , right here in my home state....

85 cars have all crashed in a massive pileup in Frostburgh Md. Two known fatalities...

Very sad, as many I`m sure were holiday traveling....Fog, heavy dense fog... as the weather from hell continues to smother the east coast....

Very sad to hear but im actually surprised that we don't have more of these huge accidents on the incredibly overcrowded freeways in this country. You would think that, along with all the impaired drivers as well as distracted drivers on phones or eating or whatever would lead to a lot more of these type crashes.

Journey - It's all those damn foreigners driving around too fast in the fog and rain.

It always amazes me how fast some people STILL drive on the freeways when it's so foggy you can only see 50 ft in front of you. Boneheads!

i was there for a wedding last weekend. the fog is TERRIBLE on RT 68.

Historically, FOG has been the root-cause for the Nation's worst multi-vehicle highway accidents.

There is NO place (except perhaps a hospital) worth attempting the deadly risks associated with traveling in FOG.

If such conditions exist while driving, find alternatives such as a rest area or hotel until conditions clear.

An unfortunate occurance, which will be repeated...unless state agencies begin closing roads and highways where such conditions exist...BEFORE they become such deadly hazards.

TRUE SPIVE...But there have been times when I`ve come home from work and ran into HEAVY FOG say halfway home...Scary as hell....

Any how many of those times did you get off the road?

Perhaps FOG actually FOGS one's mind...

Traveling across country during the move to Vegas, I ran into rain, sleet, and fog in the northern region of Texas...I couldn't wait to get off the highway but there was no place to go as the heart raced and knucks whitened.

As soon as I entered New Mexico, I made my exit while conditions worsened...stopping at a hotel I got out of my car only to have a gentleman standing there in amazement...he was looking out at the rain, sleet, fog and snow all occuring simultaneously. He said I never seen that before...I replied, neither have I.

It wasn't long before truckers start coming into the hotel's restaurant/bar many shaken by the multiple accidents they just witnessed on the highway I ecaped.

Conditions cleared by noon the following day and I pushed into Vegas by evening...been here ever since...where traffic is heavy, not the fog, sleet nor snow.
